Elephant Training Camp in Chiangdao with elephant riding and rafting
This trip takes you to see how trained elephants are used to help in logging industry. Located 56 kms. north of Chiangmai on the banks of Ping river, you will be at an unspoiled Chiang Dao elephant camp with an opportunity to observe these gentle mammals in their natural habitat taking their daily bath in the river and performing amazing strength and skill at the command of their mahouts. Then follows with one and a half - hour elephant ride through the natural surrounding to the Lisu hilltribe village. After lunch at local restaurant continue with bamboo rafting to enjoy the beautifulscenery along Ping river. On the way back to Chiangmai a stop will be made at an orchid farm and return to the hotel. |

Maetaman Elephant Camp
Set off in the morning to the forested area of Mae Tang. Upon arrival take a chance to walk around and feed the elephants then proceed to see them enjoy their daily bath in the river. Continue to see these gentle creatures showing their talent and hauling timber during the show. After that there is a chance to take 1 hour elephant ride through the jungle area and return to the camp on the ox-cart. Lunch will be provided at the restaurant in the camp. Then proceed with bamboo rafting along scenic Mae Taman river. On the way back to Chiangmai the last stop will be made at an orchid farm. |
