The Highlight of Chiangmai
Day 1 : Arrive Chiangmai meet/assist by local English speaking guide and transfer to hotel for check in. Enjoy an evening out by having a traditional Khantoke Dinner, the customary northern Thai style of eating food, which is served on low tables while you sit on the floor. Day 2 : Elephant camp at Mae Sa An excursion to the mountain terrain north of the city to see elephants in their natural habitat. A pleasant morning is spent at the magnificent ground of Mae Sa elephant camp to see the gigantic creatures enjoy their daily bath before they start to show their impressive talent and memory includes playing football and painting. A stop will also be made at an orchid farm. Lunch is provided at a local restaurant and proceed to local handicraft village. On this trip you will witness the fascinating process of making silverware, jewelry, lacquerware, teakwood furniture, paper umbrella and the intricate silk weaving. |

Visit Wat Chedi Luang temple, which consist of an impressive pagoda, originally built in 1401 and partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545 and this temple also houses the city foundation pillar. Proceed to Chiangmai China town and the fresh food market and experience the northern Thai way of life. Continue with the local transportation to get to the boat pier at Wat Chaimongkol temple and take a relaxing boat trip to enjoy the scenery along Mae Ping River and stop at the farmhouse to have some fruit and soft drinks. Day 2 : Elephant Training Camp in Chiang Dao with Elephant riding and rafting This trip takes you to see how trained elephants are used to help in logging industry. Located 56 kms. north of Chiangmai on the banks of Ping river, you will be at an unspoiled Chiang Dao elephant camp with an opportunity to observe these gentle mammals in their natural habitat
taking their daily bath in the river and performing amazing strength and skill at the command of their mahouts. |
Then follows with one and a half-hour elephant ride through the natural surrounding to the Lisu hilltribe village. After lunch at local restaurant continue with bamboo rafting to enjoy the beautiful scenery along Ping river. On the way back to Chiangmai a stop will be made at an orchid farm and return to the hotel
Day 3 : Depart from the hotel through the picturesque mountain area with a stop at the hot spring then proceed overland to Chiangrai and visit the magnificent temple of Wat Rong Khun, the white temple. Check in at the hotel and after lunch continue Mae Kok boat trip to Karen Ruam Mitr

Day 4 : Drive uphill to visit Doi Tung, The site of a major environmental and socio – economic development project Initiated by Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother of this current King with her teak villa. Drive further north to bustling border town and lunch is served at local restaurant. Continue to the Golden Triangle area, where the borders of Thailand, Laos and Burma convene and a stop will be made at the opium museum. Return to trip to Chiangmai.
