Mae Hong Son can boast of being the most mountainous province of Thailand with only 10% of the flat land. This city offers the beauty of the forested area along with the scenic Pai river and also the famous long-necked Karen village at the Burmese borderThe Burmese style temples are one of the most outstanding art of the area.
There are Tai Yai or Shan from the Shan state of Burma,Karen and some other hilltribe people who built their home in the magnificent mountains and valley of Mae Hong Son.
This city can be reached by 244 kilometres winding road with 1864 curves all the way from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son ,therefore the most convenient and relaxing way to visit Mae Hong Son is flying 25 minutes with Thai Airlines from the legendary city of Chiangmai. |

| Day 2 : Depart from the hotel to local boat landing to take the boat trip along the scenic Pai river to visit the long–necked Karen hilltribe wearing numerous brass rings around their elongated necks. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Proceed to visit the Burmese–style temples in the city of Maehongson. Then transfer to Maehongson airport. |
